Timer

Set minutes and seconds, start the countdown, and hear a short sound when it ends, all in your browser.

05:00

The timer runs in this browser. Nothing you enter is uploaded or saved.

Nothing you enter leaves this device.

How to use it

  1. 1

    Enter minutes and seconds

Type the minutes and the seconds you want. Leave one of them empty if you only need the other. The longest time is 999 minutes 59 seconds.

  2. 2

    Press Start

The countdown begins and the remaining time is shown as minutes and seconds. Pressing Start also lets the page prepare its sound, so keep your device volume on.

  3. 3

    Pause and resume

Press Pause to stop the clock where it is, then Resume to continue from the same remaining time.

  4. 4

    Reset when finished

When time is up the page shows a message and plays three short beeps. Press Reset to return to the time you entered.

Common use cases

Cooking and breaks

Time boiling eggs, steeping tea, a rest between exercise sets, or a short break from your desk without opening another app.

Study and work sessions

Run focused blocks of 25 minutes or any length you prefer, and stop at the sound instead of watching the clock.

Presentations and games

Keep speakers, quiz answers, or turns in a game to a fixed time with a clear signal when it ends.

Security and privacy

Nothing leaves your device

The countdown runs in your browser from the clock on your device. The page has no upload route, sends no request with what you type, and saves nothing, so closing the tab clears it. The beep is generated by your browser, not loaded from a sound file.

FAQ

Does the timer keep going if I switch tabs?

Yes. The remaining time is worked out from the moment the timer should end, not by counting ticks, so it stays correct even when the browser slows a background tab. The finish message is set for the end time, though a browser may still delay it a moment in a background tab.

Why did I not hear a sound?

Browsers only allow sound after you interact with the page, which is why the sound is prepared when you press Start. Check that your device is not muted. The on-screen message always appears even if the sound is blocked.

What happens if I close the tab?

The timer stops and is forgotten. Nothing is stored, and the page cannot run or ring after it is closed.

Is the time exact?

It is accurate to well under a second for normal use. The display rounds up, so it shows 00:01 until the very last moment.

Can I run several timers at once?

No. This page has one timer. Open the page in a second browser tab if you need another one.
