Random picker
Paste a list of names and pick winners at random without repeats, in your browser.
The names you enter never leave this device.
How to use it
- 1
Type one name per line
Write or paste the names, one on each line. Empty lines and spaces at the start or end of a line are ignored.
- 2
Say how many to pick
Enter the number of winners. It must be a whole number from 1 up to the number of names in the list.
- 3
Press the draw button
The chosen names appear in the order they were drawn. No name can appear twice in one draw.
- 4
Press again for a new draw
Each press starts a fresh draw from the whole list, so the earlier result does not affect the next one.
Common use cases
Security and privacy
Your list stays on your device
Names can be personal, so this page never sends them anywhere. The draw runs in your browser, there is no upload route, no request carries your list, and nothing is saved when you close the tab. The random numbers come from the secure generator built into your browser.
Supported inputs and outputs
What you enter
- A list of names, one per line
- Empty lines and extra spaces are ignored
- The number of names to pick, from 1 to the size of the list
- An error message if you ask for more names than the list holds
FAQ
Is the draw really random and fair?
Every name has the same chance. The page uses the secure random numbers of your browser and discards the values that would favor some names, so there is no hidden bias toward the top or bottom of the list.
Can the same name be picked twice?
Not in one draw. Each line is one entry, so a name written on two lines counts as two entries and could appear twice.
Is my list uploaded or saved?
No. The list is only read by this page in your browser. It is not sent to Frisbly or anyone else, and it disappears when you close the tab.
What if I ask for more winners than names?
The page shows an error message and does not draw. Lower the number or add more names.
Is there a limit on the list length?
There is no fixed limit. A list of many thousands of names still draws instantly on a normal device.
